Tear Trough Filler For Bags Under Eyes: What To Know
Tear Trough Filler
Got that tired look? Hyaluronic Dermal Fillers can wake you up, instantly
Even young people – such as “Twilight” star Kristin Stewart, now 29 – can suffer from tear troughs, which are deeper indentations beneath the lower eyelid that appear as dark circles.
The condition is an abnormality that causes thinner fat pads beneath the eyes, giving the area a dark, hollow appearance that makes those afflicted to look tired no matter how much sleep they’ve gotten the night before.
While everyone has hollows beneath the eyes, above the cheekbones, tear troughs are deeper because there is less tissue, and dehydration, sun exposure and a lack of sleep can make them worse.
Although tear troughs look like dark circles, caused by damage to collagen and elastin proteins to delicate undereye tissue, or blood vessels beneath the eyes that leak due to collagen loss, they are different, and the orbital hollowing can become more pronounced with age.
According to current evidence , wrinkling and hollowing around the eyes begins around age 35.
While that’s generally too early for people to consider surgery, that doesn’t mean they don’t want to seek out solutions to maintain their youthful appearance as long as possible.
One of the hottest treatments since around 2017 – Katy Perry’s reveal that she used the treatment may have played a part – tear trough fillers help relieve the creases that form beneath the eyes by plumping up those thin fat pads.
We use the injectable fillers Belotero, Restylane or similar Hyaluronic acid dermal fillers – to help treat tear troughs. The dermal filler has a hyaluronic acid base and is well suited for filling fine lines and wrinkles as well as plumping up tear troughs.
Hyaluronic acid – made from sugar (glycosaminoglycans) – is naturally produced by the body, and is predominantly found in the skin and connective tissues. It helps tissues retain moisture, so skin remains supple with a youthful glow.
When injected, it helps hydrate the targeted areas, helping treated tissue better retain moisture.
Unlike other fillers, it is injected in the dermis, or structural layer, of skin, where it interacts with collagen and elastin, which are the skin’s foundational proteins. A stronger foundation helps elevate the creases, erasing that tired look.
The 30-minute procedure yields results that tend to last up to a year, and the side effects are minor, including bruising, swelling and mild, temporary discomfort.
