Looking for a non-surgical facelift in Indianapolis? A PDO thread lift is a minimally invasive treatment that lifts sagging skin, defines the jawline, and restores youthful contours.
This treatment is primarily used for the face, including the jawline, cheeks, brows, and neck. In select cases, it may also be used on areas like the knees or buttocks. All procedures are performed by our MD, Dr. Srinivasu Kesa.
PDO threads are absorbable sutures placed beneath the skin to lift and reposition mildly sagging tissue. Barbed threads provide immediate support, while the healing response encourages gradual collagen remodeling.
As the threads dissolve, they stimulate natural collagen production, helping tighten and strengthen the skin for long-term results. Treatment is quick, minimally invasive, and requires little to no downtime.
Learn more about how PDO thread lifts work, their benefits and limitations.
A face thread lift can reposition mildly sagging tissue around the cheeks, jawline, jowls, and lower face. The goal is to restore definition and create a refreshed, natural-looking appearance without traditional facelift surgery.
A face thread lift can reposition mild-to-moderately sagging tissue around the cheeks, jawline, jowls, and lower face. The goal is to restore jawline contour and definition while creating a refreshed, natural-looking appearance without traditional facelift surgery.
The treatment focuses on the midface and lower face, where tissue descent and reduced definition commonly become visible. Repositioning nearby tissue may also soften the appearance of selected folds. However, PDO threads do not replace lost facial volume or fill deep folds in the same way as dermal fillers.
Some lifting may be visible shortly after treatment, with results appearing more settled as swelling decreases and collagen remodeling continues.
Ideal for patients with:
Mild-to-moderate jowling when the skin and underlying tissue are appropriate for thread placement
Sagging cheeks or lower-face tissue
Reduced jawline definition
Selected folds caused partly by tissue descent
Realistic expectations about nonsurgical results
A preference for lifting without adding filler volume

A PDO brow thread lift can subtly elevate and define the outer brow, creating a more open and refreshed appearance without traditional brow-lift surgery.
Fine threads are placed beneath the skin to support and reposition selected upper-face tissue. In appropriate patients, improving the brow position may also reduce the appearance of mild hooding around the eye area.
This treatment may be appropriate for patients with mild brow descent or upper-face laxity who want natural-looking definition rather than a dramatic transformation.
Potential benefits include:
Subtle elevation and definition of the outer brow
A more open-looking eye area
Improvement in the appearance of mild hooding in selected patients
No general anesthesia
Small thread-entry points rather than traditional surgical incisions
Generally less recovery than brow-lift surgery
Gradual collagen remodeling during healing
PDO threads do not directly relax the facial muscles responsible for expression-related forehead lines. If forehead creases are a primary concern, Dr. Kesa may discuss whether Botox, Xeomin, Daxxify, or another treatment would be more appropriate.
A PDO neck thread lift may improve mild-to-moderate skin laxity and support better definition around the neck and jawline without traditional neck-lift surgery.
Threads are placed strategically beneath the skin to lift and reposition selected tissue while encouraging collagen remodeling. This treatment may be appropriate for patients with early sagging around the upper neck, mild jowling, or reduced jawline definition.
Potential benefits include:
Improved neck and jawline definition
Support for mild-to-moderately sagging tissue
A smoother, firmer-looking neck contour
Reduced appearance of early jowling
No traditional surgical incisions, although small thread-entry points are required
Natural-looking results that typically last approximately 12–18 months, although individual outcomes vary
PDO threads cannot remove substantial excess skin or correct every cause of neck aging. Patients with crepey texture or mild loose neck skin without significant tissue descent may be better candidates for nonsurgical skin-tightening treatment.
Substantial excess skin, prominent neck bands, or advanced sagging may require another treatment approach. Dr. Kesa will determine which option best matches the patient’s anatomy and goals.
PDO threads may be used in selected body areas to improve mild laxity, tissue support, and skin contour. Body treatment must be individualized because skin thickness, tissue weight, degree of laxity, and expected outcomes differ from facial treatment.
Areas that may be considered include:
Buttocks
Abdomen
Knees and thighs
Upper arms
Depending on the treatment area and patient’s anatomy, PDO threads may provide a mild lifting effect, improve the appearance of crepey skin, or encourage gradual collagen remodeling.
PDO threads may also be incorporated into a nonsurgical Brazilian butt lift treatment plan for selected patients.
Results vary. PDO threads cannot remove substantial excess skin or reproduce the degree of correction available from body-lift surgery. Dr. Kesa will evaluate whether threads, another skin-tightening treatment, or a combination approach is appropriate.
PDO thread lifts provide immediate structural support by lifting and repositioning selected tissue. They are generally best suited to patients with mild-to-moderate laxity, early jowling, sagging cheeks, or reduced jawline definition who want visible lifting without facelift surgery.
Nonsurgical skin-tightening treatments use energy-based technology to stimulate collagen and gradually improve firmness. They may be more appropriate when the primary concern is mild laxity, crepey texture, or reduced skin firmness without significant tissue descent.
Some patients may be candidates for a combination of PDO threads and nonsurgical skin-tightening treatment. Whether combination treatment is appropriate, and whether the procedures should be staged, depends on the patient’s anatomy, skin quality, treatment areas, and goals.
Every PDO thread lift at MD Wellness Center & Med Spa is personally performed by Dr. Srinivasu Kesa, MD, a licensed physician with over 30 years of medical experience and advanced training in aesthetic and regenerative medicine.
Treatment generally takes approximately 45–60 minutes, depending on the number of threads and areas treated. The treatment area is numbed, and Nitronox® is used to improve comfort.
Some lifting may be visible shortly after treatment, although swelling can affect the initial appearance. Temporary swelling, bruising, tenderness, tightness, mild puckering, or asymmetry may occur while the threads settle.
Patients receive personalized aftercare instructions from Dr. Kesa. Read our complete PDO thread lift recovery timeline and aftercare guide before scheduling treatment.

PDO threads may be appropriate for patients who want to improve mild-to-moderate skin laxity without undergoing facelift surgery.
Potential advantages include:
Treatment-area numbing, with Nitronox® available to improve comfort
No general anesthesia
Tiny thread-entry points rather than traditional surgical incisions; these generally heal without visible scarring
A shorter recovery period than facelift surgery
Subtle-to-moderate, natural-looking improvement
A lower average upfront cost than surgery
PDO threads and surgical facelifts do not provide equivalent correction. Threads lift and reposition selected tissue, while facelift surgery can reposition deeper tissues and remove substantial excess skin.
Patients with advanced laxity, substantial excess skin, or expectations of a dramatic transformation may obtain a more appropriate result from a surgical consultation. Patients seeking a less invasive option with more modest correction may be suitable candidates for PDO threads.
