Anyone having significant anxiety about the procedure or a low pain tolerance.
It helps by decreasing anxiety, relaxing the body and dulling the sensation of pain.
It adds about 10 to 15 min to your procedure time. Overall, you may need to stay in the office for an extra 30 min.
The affects of nitrous are not long-lasting. You should feel completely normal within 10-15 minutes. We do ask that you stay in office during this time frame.
Yes, you can drive back home if you wait the required 10-15 minutes in office to ensure the effects have dissipated.
The use of Nitrous Oxide is contraindicated in the following:
- If you have significant breathing problems like COPD, Asthma, or heart failure.
- If you have had eye surgery in the last 90 days
- if you had a stroke or heart attack.
- If you are pregnant.
