Microneedling (also known as Percutaneous Collagen Induction Therapy or PCIT) is an innovation in aesthetic medicine to treat fine lines, acne scars, and overall skin appearance improvement. Patients with deep wrinkles, advanced sun damage, stretch marks or any type of scars usually require four to eight sessions or more to achieve the desired results.

A sterile needle-tip containing tiny micro-needles is attached to the microneedling device. Your skincare professional will apply a thin layer of topical serum to your skin and select the appropriate treatment depth based on your unique needs. Next, in a single motion, the microneedling device will gently glide across the skin in one direction until the entire treatment area has been covered. This creates thousands of microscopic channels throughout the entire treatment area.

Before your treatment, the medical provider will apply a topical numbing agent. A majority of patients report feeling very little to no pain at all once the agent has been applied.

Results are produced through stimulation of growth factors and collagen, which promotes the production of new skin cells.. As our skin ages, our collagen production naturally slows down. New collagen and elastin formation has been documented to still be present as much as year after this procedure.

A majority of patients see results just after one to two treatments. Individual results vary depending on individual skin health. Most commonly, patients report seeing positive changes as soon as one to two weeks after treatment. However, change is normally noted within a few days.

There is no downtime. Immediately after your treatment your skin will look red and will feel like sun burn.
