IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) is a non-invasive light treatment that can be used for different skin tones and aging skin conditions. It is also known as photo rejuvenation or photo facial.  IPL is used to treat sun damage, freckles, vascular lesions, Rosacea, and age spots. The result is an exceptionally effective skin rejuvenation treatment with minimal discomfort requiring no topical anesthesia or pain medicine

The LimeLight Facial is very effective for improving uneven skin tone. It can treat individual pigment changes such as brown age spots; it can also treat widespread blotchiness, freckles, skin redness and individual fine veins.

IPL uses intense pulsed light to energize/heat target specific colors (redness and brown spots) within the skin, without affecting the surrounding skin.

When the targeted cells (redness and discoloration) absorb this energy,  the pigmentation is destroyed.

The end result can vastly improve the appearance of sun damage, acne hyperpigmentation and other skin imperfections.

Anyone with a light or medium color skin may be a candidate for the Lime Light Facial.  Those with darker skin tones may not be ideal candidates. During appointment we will assess your skin type to decide if IPL is the right treatment for you.

The number of treatments will be discussed at the time of your consultation. Typically 4-6 treatments can provide significant improvement.

Treatment times will depend on the area of treatment and the conditions treated. It typical takes 5 minutes to 1 hour for the treatment.

When the pulse of light is delivered, patients will experience a mild pinching or stinging sensation.

When specific spots are treated, they will darken and the skin may appear slightly red. The treated area may be mildly swollen. This typically lasts a few hours and possibly a day or longer. Skin will flake off naturally in couple of days to reveal clearer skin. If general redness or fine veins are treated, the blush will gradually lighten over the period of treatments.

IPL Facial photo rejuvenation is safe. As with all procedures there is a slight degree of risk which will be discussed in detail prior to your treatment.

You may start to see some the results after just 1 – 2 treatment sessions and continuing to see improvements.
Over time new spots may appear, as a result of new sun exposure and the ongoing aging process, so you may need maintenance treatments.

There is NO downtime with this procedure. There may be temporary redness and swelling on the treated area.  Patient can continue their daily activities but need to remain out of the sun.

IPL Laser can be used to successfully treat full face, neck, arms and hands.

After the treatments we advise you to treat your skin with care for the next couple of days. Using rough exfoliating or products that contain a lot of chemical ingredients should be avoided since they can cause itchy, sensitive skin. Avoid direct sunlight from hitting your treated skin. Do Not use a tanning bed, sun lamp, or any other indoor tanning equipment. After this period of time you can return to your daily habits with no danger whatsoever.

You may schedule a free consultation with our specialist to determine if IPL photo rejuvenation is right treatment for you.
