Laser Hair Restoration is a procedure wherein laser light is used to penetrate the scalp to reach the base of a hair follicle. Treating the base of the hair follicle directly warrants that the hair follicle is stimulated, allowing it to heal, thus helping the follicles to regrow thick and healthy hair. It uses a wavelength of 650 nanometers (nm), which is in the red color spectrum. Clinical studies confirmed the healing effect of red laser light on human tissue and hair follicles.

At an optimized wavelength of 650 nm, it is considered the ideal wavelength for hair rejuvenation. Cold laser, or low-level laser, increases the nutrient acquisition by the follicle, better blood micro-circulation to the follicle, energizes and repairs weakened follicle, decreases follicular inflammation, and escalates the rate of the removal of the harmful hormone dihydrotestosterone (DHT).

All these factors aid in the healing and regrowth of normal and healthy hair. Furthermore, cold lasers cause an increase in cell activity, produce no heat, are painless, and have no side effects. Treatments are done twice a week for three months, then once a week for another three months. Results can be clearly seen as early as 2-3 months after the completion of the therapy.
