Kybella is the only FDA approved injectable for the permanent reduction of submental fat (double chin).
KYBELLA® is the only FDA-approved injectable treatment that destroys fat cells in the treatment area under the chin region to improve your profile. At MD Wellness Center and Med Spa, we offer Kybella, along with other treatment options to the appearance of submental fat. Kybella can be used alone or in conjunction with other treatments to maximize results.
Our clients also receive a complimentary ZWave Session with each Kybella Treatment.
Often used for cellulite reduction, this painless pulse therapy helps to further reduce fat, firms and smooth the skin’s texture from the inside-out. As a result, our clients have experienced shorter healing time and enhanced results that can lead to fewer treatments needed.
The active ingredient in KYBELLA® is synthetic deoxycholic acid. Deoxycholic acid is a naturally occurring molecule in the body that aids in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat. When injected into the fat beneath the chin, KYBELLA® destroys fat cells, resulting in a noticeable reduction in that fatty area under the chin. Once destroyed, these cells can no longer store or accumulate fat, so further treatment is not expected once you reach your desired aesthetic goal.
At each treatment, you will receive multiple small injections under your chin, and the injection process takes about 15 to 20 minutes. The exact number of injections will depend on the amount of fat you have under your chin and your desired profile. This treatment is tolerated well, and there is minimal downtime. There will be swelling immediately, which lasts for the next ten to fourteen days.
Side effects are rare, but most common ones– swelling, bruising, or numbness, which disappears after a few days. These side effects can be treated with over the counter medication and can easily be covered up with makeup if necessary. Unlike surgery, patients can return to their everyday normal activities immediately post-treatment. However, it is advised that not a lot of rigorous activity be done right after this procedure. For pain best treatment is Ice and Tylenol. Try to avoid taking any NSAIDs.
